Muireann Bradley released Blackwood Pew on October 23, adding original songwriting to the work of the Irish folk and blues musician. The EP follows her 2024 debut I Kept These Old Blues.

The collection includes “Not Going Back” and “Clementine.” Bradley developed the latter in the studio with producer Declan Gaffney and Ella Walker, also known as Wildes, before making further changes at home. The official announcement connects its atmosphere to a Velvet Underground influence alongside her older blues and traditional roots.

A physical double EP, Rose Dogs & Blackwood Pew, combines the new recordings with all five tracks from her 2025 Rose Dogs release. Record-store performances support the physical edition. The pairing offers listeners the earlier interpretations and the new compositions together, documenting a shift toward writing her own material within the traditions that first shaped her playing.
