The Met has announced Felix Gonzalez-Torres: The Spaces Between, opening June 10, 2027. The exhibition is planned as the artist’s first major New York City survey since 1995.
More than forty works will appear across fourteen collecting areas, extending beyond the format of a single gallery presentation. The museum’s announcement names pieces involving paired clocks, a dance platform and replenishable candy among the planned works. Installations, photography, painting, sculpture and video will enter into conversations with the surrounding collections. The exhibition is scheduled to continue through October 18, 2027; this is an advance planning report based on the September announcement.
