The Met and the Musée du Louvre have announced Rembrandt and the Ancients, an exhibition opening in New York November 7, 2027. The announcement was issued October 15, 2026.
More than 125 works are planned, including roughly seventy paintings, drawings and prints by Rembrandt alongside ancient and Renaissance objects. The museum frames the exhibition around the artist’s sustained engagement with antiquity. It is scheduled to remain at The Met through February 6, 2028, before traveling to the Louvre. The planning announcement offers a substantial future date for art audiences, rather than suggesting the exhibition is already open.
