Elif Shafak’s In One Brief Moment All Eternity is part of Penguin’s October UK publishing list. The novel places women connected to Gustave Flaubert and his fiction at the center of a story about who controls literary memory.
The publisher identifies a nursemaid, an Egyptian dancer and a lover among the perspectives shaping the book. Its historical route includes Paris, Istanbul, Cairo, Palestine and Beirut. The premise asks how real and imagined women might answer a writer whose work has helped define them. Penguin’s October 15 listing supplies formats and publication details; Soundwave is reporting the release without assigning a review score.
