The Tom Petty Estate has released a video for an extended, newly mixed version of “Fooled Again (I Don’t Like It).” Directed by Alan Bibby, the clip draws on Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ 1978 appearance on the BBC’s The Old Grey Whistle Test.
The song previews Origins 1971–1978, the archival collection due November 6 through UMe. Longtime producer and engineer Ryan Ulyate has remixed the band’s first two albums from their original multitrack tapes, with “Fooled Again” among the expanded tracks.
The box also includes the complete 41-minute television performance, presented in HD with restored audio. Announced on October 20, Petty’s birthday, the video connects the studio archive with an early international breakthrough. Multiple vinyl and CD configurations are planned, with different package details for collectors to compare.
