Olivia Rodrigo has released a remix of “expectations” featuring Chappell Roan through Interscope Records. The October 15 track brings the two singers together over production by their shared collaborator Dan Nigro.
Bardia Zeinali directed the accompanying video, which puts Rodrigo and Roan into a retro game-show setting. David Byrne appears as the host, with Nigro also making an appearance. The visual draws on television games from the 1980s and 1990s.
The original song appears on Rodrigo’s third studio album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. The label identifies the remix as Roan’s first feature appearance. Alongside streaming, the release is offered on limited seven-inch vinyl, CD and cassette through the artists’ stores. Those physical options give collectors several formats for the same collaboration, with availability varying by storefront.
