In Parallel has returned with “Carson Lore,” the first single from its three-song EP Moral Injury, due November 20 through Mind Over Matter Records. The track and its accompanying video arrived November 2.

Featuring members of Hopesfall and Celebrity, the group returns after almost six years between releases. The EP also marks its first release for Mind Over Matter.

Three songs written in one weekend

The band booked studio time without a fixed agenda and wrote and recorded the three tracks over a weekend. According to the release announcement, the songs’ themes were shaped by the aftermath of a school shooting near member Ryan Parrish’s home in Tennessee.

The group addresses the emotional weight of that experience through the EP’s music and lyrics. A portion of sales will benefit Safer TN, according to the band’s announcement.
