SCTV documentary reunites the people behind a comedy institution

SCTV: The Greatest Show You’ve Never Heard Of begins streaming on Netflix October 30. Jason Hehir directs a documentary about the Canadian sketch series and the people who created it.

The distributor’s account describes interviews with surviving cast members, archival material and a Toronto reunion. Its focus is the collaborative process that carried a small television production into a lasting place in comedy history. Producers listed by Netflix include Chapman Downes, Whitney Johnson and Andrew Hafnor. The release extends the service’s run of October documentaries devoted to comedy performers, their working lives and their influence.
