Norm Macdonald documentary revisits a singular comic voice

Norm: The Tale of Norm Macdonald arrived on Netflix October 16. Judd Apatow directs the documentary about the stand-up performer and former Saturday Night Live cast member.

Netflix’s production account describes a film assembled from archival recordings, personal photographs and home videos. The resulting format places Macdonald’s own recorded voice at the center of an account of his life and career. Amanda Rohlke and Ross M. Dinerstein are listed alongside Apatow as producers. The film joins a cluster of new comedy documentaries on the service this month, with its official listing supplying the trailer and viewing details.
