Carlos Santana and Natalia Lafourcade have released “Hermano” through Sony Music Latin. Lafourcade wrote the song with Edgar Barrera, who also produced the recording, for a collaboration centered on empathy, reconciliation and shared identity.

The arrangement connects Lafourcade’s relationship with Veracruz’s son jarocho tradition to Santana’s electric guitar. Their official announcement places its message in the context of social division and the bonds between families, communities and the wider world.

The single follows Santana’s recent collaborations “Velas” with Carín León, “Me Retiro” with Grupo Frontera and “Mi Gran Amor” with Becky G. Those releases also involve his ongoing creative partnership with Barrera. “Hermano” adds another distinct voice to that sequence, bringing Lafourcade’s traditional Mexican foundation into the current recording chapter of the guitarist’s career.
